Area of Vietnam pepper increased by nearly 200%

Cajuput tree trellises used to grow pepper

KIÊN GIANG — Farmers in Kiên Giang Province’s Gò Quao District are using environmentally-friendly cajuput trees as trellises instead of concrete or wooden pillars to grow pepper plants. Vietnam Pepper Association not hopeful of global price recovery

Pepper output to reach 200,000 tonnes this year

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s pepper output this year would reach around 200,000 tonnes, according to the International Pepper Community (IPC). Output of black pepper was forecast at 175,000 tonnes, while the remainder would be white pepper. Export price of Vietnamese pepper down 62 per cent
